My Baby Boy
My sweet little baby boy turns 13 today! He's taller than me now, and wears the same size shoe as his Dad, an 11 1/2. I got teary-eyed driving to work this morning and again now as I write this. I just can't believe it's been 13 years since I first changed his little diaper. I stood there alone in my hospital room with him and changed his diaper on my bed. I remember standing there so proud of myself and basking in new motherhood glow. . . only to watch a stream of urine come out the top of the diaper, across his little belly and onto my bed. I guess the diaper wasn't tight enough around his waist. Yeah, don't ask. . . I have no idea how I managed that.

Amy,
It doesn't get any easier when they turn 20.
Makes you wonder if your mom still thinks of you like that.
Yeah, I'm sure my mom does. It's just like as a kid, you don't understand why your parents worry about you so much, and then you grow up and have a child. "Oh, I get it now!"
