Sometimes I feel a little silly reading a book that is intended for adolescents, but it is truly captivating. Stephenie Meyer is a gifted story teller. I'm glad I haven't had to wait for each book to come out. It's been really nice to finish one and simply pick up the next one and continue the story. I even have to stop and think what happened in which book because they have kinda melted into one for me. . . kinda like LOTR! Which really is one book, not three as many think it is. But I digress.
The DVD for Twilight came out at midnight last night. It first appeared on my PPV at 4 a.m. Dana's lucky I wasn't up watching it then. However, I am a little torn. As you know (see previous post) I prefer books over the movies. They are 100% of the time better. I'm afraid I'll be a little disappointed in it, although Cassidy tells me it's pretty close to the book. They are currently filming Eclipse and I believe there are plans to do all of them.
Cassidy's birthday is the 30th. I only have one thing for him. The rest of the Twilight series was supposed to be for him, but I couldn't wait to start the second book. So that's out. Plus, I don't think he's all that interested in them. I guess they're more of a "girl" thing. I keep saying I'm going to do some shopping during lunch, but I can't seem to get my nose out of the book!! Oh, he also just sent me a text: You know what would be better than a birthday cake? A birthday PIE. I guess I'll be baking an apple pie for his birthday.
My other current distraction is that it's tax time!! I hate filing taxes. Each year Dana asks me for receipts, and I have to dig them up. And each year I tell myself I'm going to be more organized next year and have them all ready. And I never am. I'm here alone today, so I suppose I should get the office organized and try to be ready for next spring.
